Preparations continue for 2016 Popeyes Bahamas Bowl

During the week of October 31-November 3, the staff of the Popeyes Bahamas Bowl visited Nassau to tour the facilities that will be used for bowl week and the 2016 game, set for Friday, Dec. 23 at 1 p.m. at Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium.

Upgrades continue to be put in place at the National Stadium, including a brand-new Celebration Bermudagrass field installation after two years on the stadium’s original grass surface.

The group also toured the Atlantis Bahamas resort and visited with local businesses directly involved with the bowl.

The press conference included Pete Derzis, Senior VP, ESPN Events, Popeyes Bahamas Bowl Executive Director Richard Giannini, Popeyes Bahamas Bowl founder Lea Miller, Bahamas Ministry of Tourism Permanent Secretary Harrison Thompson and NSA-Bahamas General Manager Jeffrey Beckles..
